The Ballarat and District Aboriginal Co-operative (BADAC) was established by members of the Ballarat and district Aboriginal community in 1979. It became a co-operative to deliver health, social, welfare and community development programs to local Aboriginal people.

Child & Family Services Ballarat Inc

Description

Child & Family Services (CAFS) provides a divese range of services which include Family Services, Out of home care and support services, Family Violence Support & Men's Behaviour Change, Housing and Homelessness Support Services, Gambler's Help Services, Financial Counselling, Youth Care, Residential Care, and CAFS Thread Together Hub.

Activities

CAFS provides a number of services which include Family Services; in-home support, Day Stay Program, parenting and mentoring groups; Parenting Assistance and Skills Development Services (PADSD) for families referred by Child Protection, Families First & Child FIRST; Out of home care and support services; Family Violence Intervention & Family Support Programs, Housing Support Services, Gambler's Help Service, Financial Counselling, PACT programs (Housing advocacy and support), VCAT Duty Service.

Description

The Department of Health & Human Services is a Victorian Government department that plans, funds and delivers community health and housing services in line with the government's vision for making Victoria a stronger, more caring and innovative state. Services include a range of specialist support programs which are available for individuals with disabilities.

Activities

The Office of Housing provides public housing assistance and Bond Assistance. Grampians Youth Justice Unit offers services for youths who have been placed on statutory orders by the Criminal division of the Children’s Court and for those exiting Youth Justice. Description

The Saint Vincent de Paul Society provides assistance to those in need through home visits, practical support and friendship.

Activities

Specialised services are available in the areas of aged care; homelessness, family violence, drug and alcohol, out reach, employment options and health. People needing assistance can either ring the welfare line between 10am and 3pm weekdays or they can attend at the assistance centre.
